Top follow Facebook

In the early 2000s, you could download an app called “Top Followers” to your Facebook page to track your most loyal fans on the social media site. While the Facebook page for Top Followers still exists, several problems were reported with the app, and it has since converted to a social gaming site. The initial version may have been a test creator trial that failed. The good news is that you no longer need a third-party app to track your Facebook business page’s engagement and its top followers. Instead of Top Followers,” use “Facebook Insights” to obtain valuable data about your social media campaigns as well as a comprehensive fan update.

Go to your Facebook business page. Along the top of the banner, you’ll see a menu with a variety of options available to you as a Facebook business page owner. Click on the Insights tab. A summary page pops up that provides insights that, by default, reveal the last seven days of data. You can customize this default setting to record up to 28 days of history, essentially giving you a month’s snapshot of your Facebook business page’s performance. Scroll through to learn which data is readily monitored by Facebook and is at your disposal. You’ll see metrics such as “Page Views,” “Reach,” “Page Likes” and “Recommendations,” to name a few. Click on any summary to find more detailed insight into that specific parameter.

In Facebook Insights, the “People” tab contains three subsections of information: “Your Fans,” “People Reached” and “People Engaged.” You can look at the insights of each of these to gather specific information about your fans. The Fans tab breaks down the demographics and geographic location of your followers, while People Reached shows you those who saw your post in the previous 28 days.

People Engaged is the tab to look at for your top followers, those fans who are the most engaged with your page. It goes back 28 days to tell you who liked your posts along with their comments. Since commenting is considered engagement, it serves as your best fan update. From this information, you can determine your top followers.

Business owners can use the data to target audiences for marketing campaigns and seek greater social engagement with their most loyal fans. For example, if your demographic data reveals that women under the age of 40 follow you more than those in other demographics, consider targeting advertising and product lines to this group. You can also boost posts to this group specifically to receive more engagement. Any marketing update you perform with your company should be based on this data.

Be creative in using your top followers to engage regularly with them. By knowing who is active in your group, you can reach out via private message, tag or otherwise communicate with them. Your communication can help provide feedback or monitor the group. Recognize and celebrate your top fans by holding contests that offer fun prizes for those who are most engaged with your group.

Whether it’s your college friends’ engagement photos or those long political rants from your ex that you can’t help but read, Facebook is the ultimate hub for personal updates from friends you’ve probably lost touch with over the years. While it’s a great way to stay in the know in your social circle, Facebook is also an easy way to keep tabs on your favorite celebrities and public figures.
