Hi! Does it matter where I buy AoE 2 DE? I can buy it on either Steam or Microsoft Store, but I do get it a bit cheaper on MS. Can I play with my friends if I buy it on the MS, and they have it on Steam or Xbox Game Pass?
 Lilim There is no difference between the Windows Store version and the Steam version. The only difference would be the Steam trading cards that are available for this game. Since "Crossplay" is possible, there's no point in buying both versions of the game.
kinzo You can change your nickname freely with the steam version since it's use your steam account name.
There is no difference between the Windows Store version and the Steam version. Can you play the steam version if you have Windows 10? I have been reading many reports of gamers not being able to launch the steam version. I haven't encountered this problem(or the UI scaling issue) on the Windows store version which I can play via Gamepass. I would like to own the game on steam, but if it doesn't work or works poorly on steam, what is the point of buying it here even at the $5 sale price if the Windows store version works better. Lilim Can you play the steam version if you have Windows 10? Of course you can. It even says Windows 10 in the system requirements. But you are right - a lot of people encountering problems like crashes or can't launch the game at all. Hopefully this can be fixed somehow. For me (I'm on Win 10), the game runs fine. I didn't experience any crashes or other "game breaking bugs", even though my PC doesn't fully meet the system requirements (my graphics card is kind of a "bottle neck", so I can't play the game on highest graphics settings). But it shouldn't be a problem for you, since you can already run the game.
Can you play the steam version if you have Windows 10? I think I will stick to the Windows store version for now. |
