After a month of regular use the battery is still working as new, holding charge well, and the macbook's working just fine.
The Pentalobe screwdiver that comes with the battery is a useful extra.
No way to know at this stage how the battery will perform over time - but nice to have a 12 month warranty.
Good deal.

Edit:

A couple of months later the battery charge started to deplete suddenly and rapidly at a low charge level (15%)
This started happening quicker and at a gradually higher charge level, giving for example just ten minutes from 25% before shutting down.
Reading other similar reports in these reviews it looked like I'd bought a bad battery.
I contacted the vendor who suggested: 'please fully charge it to 100% then discharge the battery to 7% for 3 times'.
I'd already calibrated in this way immediately after installation, just 33 cycles earlier.

So, I used a far more rigorous procedure to re calibrate, using the resources of my remote assistance and repair business, laptoplove.co.uk :

1) Shutdown, plug in A/C power and wth the computer turned off, charge up to 100%, then keep charging for two more hours.
2) Reset the SMC (System Management Controller).
3) Boot up the computer and disable sleep mode in Energy Saver preferences.
4) Use the Activity Monitor Utility to set up a slow and steady power usage.
5) Unplug A/C power and leave the computer undisturbed until 0% battery turns off the computer.
6) Leave without power for 5 hours more to completely discharge.
7) Plug in A/C power - charge up to 100% and then for two hours, with the computer turned off, as before.
8) Unplug A/C power, and discharge the battery using the computer more normally but avoid any high energy apps or services.
9) Plug in A/C power - boot up, Reset Energy Saver settings if necessary, and use as normal.

This produced a noticeable improvement - 8 hours total (30 minutes from 15% to shutdown) streaming music in firefox with low screen brightness.

I'd like to be able to recommend this battery to my customers , so I'll be monitoring performance closely over the coming months.

I've got a mid-2012 11" Macbook Air which I fitted with one of these batteries in January 2018. It's only *just* started losing charge a bit more after fairly constant use (I'm in performing arts and it's my main portable lighting-control Mac).

2018 charge was about 8h, and about 3 and a half years later it's started depleting a bit faster. SMC reset has helped but it's coming up with "Service Battery". At the price point and ease of replacement it's a consumable for me now, so I've just ordered another and hopefully I'll get another 4 years out of it! :)

After much umming and arring I finally decided to use this product to replace a now terminal macbook air battery. The alternative was pay 3 times as much to go to some Apple genius (no appointments for ages and would then queue forever as well.
So I looked at similar products, reviews etc and plumped for this. The box was relatively small and discrete. The instructions were minimal really but if you are smart enough to replace a laptop battery then you are smart enough to use the modern miracle that is youtube. Several isntructional videos exist. I simply followed that, step by step to remove my old battery (took to local recycle centre where they havea bin for batteries) and replace with this one. All very easily done. Note that this item came with two screwdrivers for the two screw types you will encounter. Both worked absolutely fine. New battery works perfectly, its like having a new laptop. No problems found thus far (now months down the line) and the battery health remains near perfect.

I would recommend if you r apple product is outside its warranty to use this product to replace the battery.
Now apple chargers area whole different matter...

This battery was easy to fit with full instructions. The original Apple battery supplied with my MacBook Air in 2012 lasted 5 years very well and finally, after a year of declining battery life I purchased this battery. It started off very well but after a few month its charging life reduced very quickly. Now it will do about an hour before I have to plug it in to stop the computer shutting down, back to where I was with the original battery. Most of the day I am near an electrical socket so its OK but for things like travelling its a pain. When on the go I have to write faster, more concise emails before it dies!! Apart from that, not recommended, don't waste your money.

I read the reviews and wondered why some people were so dissatisfied with the battery life. When I got this battery for my Macbook 11" Air I was pleased to find the tools in the kit and the replacement took about ten minutes but I could have done it in 5. The instructions say to condition the battery by running it down to 7% and recharging for 12 hours in several cycles, and I did that. The battery now runs for many hours and the laptop is like new. I'm very happy and would recommend this company. I suspect the 1 star ratings are from people who did not correctly condition their batteries.
