Lỗi 2101 detection error on ssd m.2 năm 2024

What brand/model SSD? AFAIK the only makers of 42mm M.2 SATA SSDs are the OK Transcend and a few 'not recommended' others.

Did you test with the SSD and no HDD? Did you do the install on the SSD while the HDD was installed? (These probably wouldn't have anything to do with that error but just want to be complete, making sure it's not a bootloader issue.)

It was KingSpec, but a couple of days ago it failed. Its size is now 132 kb. Today I bought a new disc Transcent MTS420 for 240 GB. The laptop does not see at all. I am disappointed not to understand the reasons.

You need a SATA M.2/NGFF SSD, not the very similar PCIe M.2 NGFF. T440/T440s/T440p need the 2242 type with a B-key. E.g. this will work: MyDigitalSSD 240GB (256GB) Super Boot 2 (SB2) 42mm (2242) SATA III (6G) M.2 NGFF SSD Solid State Drive - MDM242-SB2-0256

Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff) Lenovo: X240, X250, T440p, T480, M900 Tiny.

I would have expected the MTS420 to work; that's a SATA drive (3D NAND version of the MTS400 I have). Might have some other problem than a bad/wrong drive. Maybe the M.2 slot is damaged or something. Does the laptop work fine with nothing in the slot?

As you can see there is NO MENTION of NGFF on the listing only m.2 ssd sata 3 bus. so it should work .. but i am scared now

NGFF "Next Generation Form Factor" is just what they called the M.2 slot before it was standardized and some places still use it as a keyword for searches.

I believe MTS420S has now been reported to work in T440p. It doesn't have DRAM cache like the MTS400 so lower performance but there is now an MTS430S with DRAM and a 512GB version like the MTS400 (also much longer write lifetime than 420S). I plan on trying it as soon as Amazon gets it in stock.

Can you confirm the MTS430S is working fine in the T440p?

I'm looking to upgrade and just want to be shure before I order one myself.

Yes, it works. My CrystalDiskMark tests show it roughly 10% faster than the MTS400 (smaller margin for seq read since that is so close to the SATA bus limit).
