When can you order 2023 Z?

It's been a long wait.

After being previewed by the Nissan Z Proto, the production 2023 Nissan Z made its long-awaited debut back in August to replace the ancient 370Z. In the US, the next-generation Nissan Z is slated to go on sale in spring 2022, but we didn't know when the order books will open - until now.

Citing a source who works at a Nissan dealership, a user on the New Nissan Z forum has revealed that orders for the new Nissan Z will start after January 3, 2022. According to the source, emails have been sent to Nissan dealerships confirming that reservations for the Ariya have now started, paving the way for the Nissan Z.

"This morning, Nissan sent out emails to us saying reservations for the Ariya are currently in motion," the source wrote in a Facebook post. "This is a big deal due to the new Z being the next car to be rolled out by Nissan. As it currently stands, this isn't confirmed but we should expect Z reservations to begin sometime after January 3rd."

With the order books opening at the start of 2022, we should find out pricing details for the Nissan Z very soon. Rumors suggest the Nissan Z will start at around $35,000, which could put a dent in the more expensive Toyota GR Supra's sales.

As standard, the Nissan Z is powered by the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 found in the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport producing 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque paired with a six-speed manual transmission or an optionally available nine-speed automatic transmission.

Performance specifications haven't been released yet but Nissan says the new Z will be 15 percent quicker than the outgoing 370Z, which will hit 0-60 mph in five seconds. As a result, the Nissan Z should be able to do the same sprint in around 4.3 seconds.

2023 Nissan Z Specs & Performance

When can you order 2023 Z?

Here comes the fun part: the Nissan Z performance capabilities. Lifting the beautifully proportioned hood will reveal a twin-turbo V-6 engine. Like the 300ZX that introduced this high-octane layout three decades ago, the new Nissan Z fires up with a throaty growl and revs to peak power with a smooth yet intimidating roar.

Once the adrenaline from this ear-pleasing sound fades away, it'll be easy to appreciate what three decades of innovation have brought forth. The 3.0-liter displacement of this V-6 engine is identical in size to the engine of the 300ZX engine. However, it comes with 24 valves and advanced technology like a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) and integrated turbine speed sensors, giving the 2023 Nissan Z 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque right out the box.

A six-speed manual transmission comes standard to give you a tactile connection with every ounce of power, but don't think this is a simple old-school stick-shift. Rather, the Nissan Z manual transmission includes a standard EXEDY performance clutch and can be complemented by SynchroRev Match technology and a mechanical limited-slip differential for unparalleled control at full tilt.

Manual-transmission Nissan Z sports cars will include a driveshaft crafted from carbon-fiber composite materials. Alternatively, an available nine-speed automatic transmission with prominent paddle shifters offers blink-of-the-eye shift times. Automatic models will also include a standard launch control system and downshift rev matching, but every Nissan Z comes with a strut tower brace, advanced monotube shocks, and speed-sensitive power steering for knife's edge precision.

The doors, hood, and rear hatch are all crafted from lightweight aluminum; the engine has a rare, handling-enhancing front-mid layout. All-in-all, every inch of the Nissan Z is designed around thrills.

The result? The Nissan Z 0-60 mph time is 4.3 seconds, its top track speed is 155 mph (limited by an onboard computer), and its svelte 3,486-pound base curb weight lets it blast through sweeping turns like a sidewinder missile.

2023 Nissan Z Performance Upgrades

When can you order 2023 Z?

If you want to get even more track-ready performance out of your Nissan Z, you'll be excited to know about the many upgrades and available features on offer.

Our new Nissan Z inventory starts the show with available RAYS forged alloy wheels. They reduce unsprung mass for sharper acceleration and handling and add some razor-sharp looks to your new Nissan Z. They'll come wrapped in extra-grippy performance tires as well. For even stronger asphalt-gripping capabilities, you can compliment your vehicle's sweet looks with an available chin and rear deck spoiler.

Your automatic-transmission-equipped Nissan Z can get available GT-R-derived paddle shifters for even tighter control. Still, for the ultimate racetrack control, available four-piston front Akebono brakes will let you confidently nail that daunting apex. For a deeper look at your driving, an optional dual-camera recording system will allow for easy track-day replays or give clarity to on-road accidents.

From vented brake discs to sport mufflers, a Nissan Z can roll out of our inventory looking, sounding, and driving like your perfect performance machine.

2023 Nissan Z Trims

Speaking of "your perfect performance machine," the soon-to-arrive Nissan Z is available in three trims, each with a custom experience that'll suit a certain type of driver:

  • 2023 Nissan Z Sport: Essential performance parts, exceptional interior features
  • 2023 Nissan Z Performance: All the souped-up performance benefits with added luxury, too
  • 2023 Nissan Z Proto Spec: A limited edition of 240 units with show-stopping upgrades

At a glance, the Nissan Z Sport trim will be your way to access the performance portfolio for a great price. You'll get features like an eight-way manual driver's seat, a carbon-fiber composite driveshaft (with a manual transmission) or launch control (with an automatic transmission), and technology like standard intelligent cruise control and a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument panel display.

Upgrade to the Nissan Z Performance trim for precisely what the name suggests. However, this great trim also gives you comfort, convenience, and technology upgrades like a nine-inch infotainment display, a WiFi hotspot, leather-trimmed seats, and an eight-speaker Bose® premium sound system. It does, though, make its mark with RAYS forged wheels, front/rear spoilers, Akebono brakes, and a limited-slip differential.

The Nissan Z Proto Spec is an exclusively tailored, well-equipped masterpiece. Contact us to learn more about this potential future classic.

2023 Nissan Z Interior

All the performance specs in the world mean very little without an engaging driver-focused interior. The new Nissan Z provides you with precisely that. It's laid out like Z cars of years past, surrounding you with ergonomically oriented controls and gauges, along with comfortable yet snug touch-based surfaces. Speaking of those gauges, they provide modern readouts related to your turbine speed or turbo boost while calling back to the past with the three-pod style of the very first Z, the 240Z.

The steering wheel comes standard with leather upholstery and a design inspired by the GT-R, pairing with rapid-fire paddle shifters if equipped with an automatic transmission and easy-use controls on the spokes. The standard digital instrument panel merges with the air vents to wrap around in a fighter-jet cockpit style, flanked by a standard eight-inch or available nine-inch infotainment touch-screen display.

The seats are lined with anti-slip material for high-speed racetrack-turn stability and are composed of comfortable, plush materials that make calmer cruises just as enjoyable. With available heating and leather upholstery, they'll be just as luxurious, too.

However, choosing available features isn't necessary to enjoy the luxury of your Nissan Z. Every model comes with standard automatic climate control, UV-reducing glass, a leather-trimmed shift knob, knee support, one-touch up/down windows, and a six-speaker sound system.

Bump up your soundtrack with the available Bose® sound system. Quiet your commutes with available active noise cancellation technology. Enjoy the confidence of standard safety features like blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, front/rear parking sonar, intelligent driver alertness, and a lane departure warning.

With further benefits like standard rear cross-traffic monitoring, a high beam assist, and a forward collision warning, the 2023 Nissan Z interior is the comfortable, connected, and confidence-inspiring cockpit you deserve.

2023 Nissan Z Colors

When you configure a 2023 Nissan Z, you'll find an equally rich selection of color choices. After all, an expression of performance that's this strong should let you express your style just as well. So, the Nissan Z does precisely that with two diverging paths for color options. First up are the monotone options. Paint your Nissan Z in one of the following color choices:

  • Black Diamond Metallic
  • Gun Metallic
  • Rosewood Metallic

Alongside those options, there's a double-stacked roster of two-tone color choices. No matter which you choose, your Nissan Z will come with a Super Black roof and a Katana blade roof accent as standard. Complement that Super Black roof with the following colors:

  • Boulder Gray
  • Brilliant Silver
  • Everest White Pearl TriCoat
  • Passion Red TriCoat
  • Seiran Blue
  • Ikazuchi Yellow

Which color will your Nissan Z arrive in? Will you take command of the classically sporty Super Black/Passion Red TriCoat paint scheme? Does the luxurious hint of Rosewood Metallic spark joy? Or is Super Black/Seiran Blue the cool look your driveway deserves? No matter if you're looking for subtlety, all-out sportiness, or timeless appeal, we'd be happy to help you reserve a Nissan Z in your perfect color scheme.

Will There Be a 2023 Nissan Z Nismo?

Nissan Z fans who demanded the highest performance possible used to choose the now-discontinued 370Z Nismo. Nismo is the in-house motorsports division for Nissan, and when they get their hands on a sports car, the result is always an adrenaline-pumping, high-octane symphony.

For the outgoing 370Z, the Nismo trim took the model's top-end features and added 18 horsepower, sports suspension, larger wheels, grippier performance tires, upgraded exterior aerodynamics, red interior accents, and Recaro seats, among other touches.

While a 2023 Nissan Z Nismo has not been confirmed, we expect a similarly equipped high-performance package to join the lineup in due time. If and when it does, epic thrills are guaranteed.
