2024 Dodge Charger EV – Overview

The 2024 Dodge Charger concept, first displayed in its fast Daytona SRT trim, is the clearest sign yet that electric vehicles are taking over.

Finally, one of the most powerful muscle vehicles can be electrified, a significant undertaking with significant performance benefits.

The next large electric vehicle platform from Stellantis, which is expected to have a range of up to 500 miles, will likely support the next-generation Charger.

But, of course, a lower range estimate is likely to occur if the performance is turned up to Hellcat levels.

While Dodge hasn’t provided much information on the 2018 Charger‘s powertrain, we can see the vehicle performing a four-wheel burnout in a YouTube teaser video for the Daytona SRT model.

The style of the new vehicle is unmistakably a tribute to vintage Challenger and Charger models, and the Fratzog logo, used on Dodge vehicles from the 1960s and 1970s, is back.

However, unlike the previous iteration, the new Charger will be a two-door coupe with a liftback trunk.

To further ensure that it preserves the Dodge brand standards, the Charger Daytona SRT concept sports a unique chambered exhaust system designed to imitate the sound of the outgoing supercharged V-8 SRT Hellcat model.

When the next-generation Charger goes on sale, perhaps for the 2024 model year, it will be an entirely new car for the Dodge portfolio.

A four-door model might also be added to the roster, but we won’t learn more about either vehicle until closer to its debut.

The costs shown above are only estimates; the new Charger is anticipated to cost more than the current gasoline-powered variants.

In addition, several trims will be available for the 2024 Charger, including performance variants with the R/T and SRT moniker.

When we get additional information, we’ll update this article to include that information, along with a suggestion for the model that offers the best value.

2024 Dodge Charger EV Interior Design

The Charger idea is designed as a coupe rather than adhering to the standard configuration of four doors. The rear seats are said to fold flat to provide additional capacity for transporting larger objects, such as a pair of brand-new tires, and the trunk lid is a liftback-style piece that opens up to a sizable cargo compartment.

We can also make out a sizable glass sunroof, a fantastic pistol-grip shifter, and an openable ignition switch cap modeled after a fighter jet.

Modern technology and vintage design elements are combined in the interior decor, including textured trim meant to resemble the 1968 Charger’s grille treatment.

Center Console/Infotainment System

The inside of the Charger Daytona SRT concept car is depicted in sketches with an oblong digital gauge display with a small bend to it and an infotainment touchscreen with a trapezoidal form in the center of the dashboard.

The next-generation Charger will undoubtedly feature the most recent version of Stellantis’s Uconnect infotainment system and is anticipated to include well-liked features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, on-board Wi-Fi, and over-the-air update capability, regardless of the final design.

Daytona SRT concept uses a revolutionary all-wheel drive 800-volt architecture that the firm has dubbed Banshee.

Dodge hasn’t specified how many motors will power the different trims of the new Charger or how much total horsepower they’ll put out.

We also know the display car employs a multi-speed transmission rather than the normal EV direct-drive system.

This is not a novel idea; the Porsche Taycan also provides a similar approach to increase performance and range at greater speeds.

Under strong acceleration also gives the driver the impression of a gear shift.

Are they discontinuing the Dodge Charger in 2023?

The Charger and Challenger, two of Dodge’s most recognizable muscle vehicles, will no longer be produced. According to CBS, the automaker intends to stop making the two gas-powered cars in 2023 and switch to electric vehicles.
