I have a 10 gallon tank equipped with a Top Fin silenstream 10 power filter. It takes Silenstream PF-S filter cartridges. All pet stores within a reasonable drive around me are sold out of these filters (in 3, 6, and 12 packs) and have been for months. And unfortunately, most are unable to ship (due to stock issues), while sites like eBay or Amazon offer the cartridges at 3-4x the normal price. My question is, are there any alternative brands that make filter carts of a similar size that would fit this particular filter? Another question: is there a filter for 10-gallon tanks that can accommodate filters from different brands (i.e. brand x can use filters from brand x, y, and z). The dimensions of the current filter are 5.5 inches x 4.2 inches, so no bigger than that. I live in Southern Ontario, Canada, if that makes any difference. Any advice or help would be appreciated, thank you in advance!
