Product DescriptionTOPS Mini Scandi Knife 2.5, 1095 High Carbon Steel, Tan Canvas Show Originally designed from the Finnish sami knife, used by the Laplanders for all their hunting and bushcraeft tasks. These knives have traditionally been flat ground, single or double sided, with a "zero-ground" edge--ground to the edge. It occurred to TOPS that a good idea is still a good idea in a smaller package. The "Mini Scandi" was a result of the very popular, original Brothers of Bushcraft (BROS-01) knife. It offers all the advantages of a Scandi grind in a neck/small sheath knife, just more concealable. The blade of 1095 carbon steel is cut in a scandi-grind. This makes this knife easy to sharpen on a sharpening stone. The blade has black Traction Coating to protect against corrosion and keep it from reflecting. The micarta grips feature a subtle red liner. Micarta offers a lot of grip with dry and wet hands/gloves. Customer ReviewsSort reviews by: Currently my favorite EDC blade Daniel L. on Mar 15, 2019 I got one of these a few weeks ago and it has replaced all of my other EDC blades not including my multi-tool. The kydex sheath l holds the knife tighter than any other kydex sheath I have. Rugged little knife that I abuse regularly and I still can't find a breaking point. I recommend this without a second tought to anyone who asks me what blade to buy. Following in the same tradition as the Finnish sami knife, the Mini Scandi 2.5 knife provides a smaller fixed blade with a zero-ground edge with all its inherent advantages, namely strength. TOPS' Mini Scandi complements the Brothers of Bushcraft, doing smaller chores with ease. It has black linen Micarta scales and a two-tone blade with the scandi grind satin finished. Includes a Kydex sheath on a ball chain neck chain. Customer ReviewsSort reviews by: First Small Fixed Blade Absolutely gorgeous combination with the micarta and scandi grind. The grind is not very slicey but it's extremely durable due to the 1095 steel. With medium-size hands, I get about a 3 1/2 finger purchase on the handle. My only complaint is that the Kydex sheath is has a bit too much retention and can be a pain to remove even when on a gun belt. I paired it with the spyderco g-clip, the holes don't line up very well but if you drill a new one, you can get a true vertical or scout carry. Great Neck Knife I'm not a huge fan of neck knives but this blade is excellent. It replaced my Becker necker in a heartbeat with its taco sheath and micarta scales. 10/10 Good knife. This is a good knife for what it is. It's a little small for my preferences but it is sturdy with good fit and finish.
