Show Ireland is the next country to reveal its plans for the Eurovision 2023. RTÉ has announced the return of the national selection Eurosong, which will take place during the evening chat show “The Late Late Show” in Early 2023. Details about Eurosong 2023Last year RTÉ returned to the Eurosong selection to choose Ireland’s representative for Eurovision 2022. Ireland was represented by Brooke and her song “That’s Rich” after she won Eurosong 2022 where, unfortunately, Brooke failed to qualify for the Eurovision 2022 final. Following on from confirming their participation at Eurovision 2023 broadcaster RTÉ has now announced they will be sticking with the Eurosong format for 2023’s selection. The submissions for Eurosong 2023 are open now. Artists and songwriters can submit songs using the form here. RTÉ notes that all songs submitted must be in their final stage, meaning no demos, etc. Songs must be no longer than three minutes and artists must provide a photograph of themselves alongside a small bio. Submissions are open now and will close on Friday 28th October at 6 pm local time in Ireland. After submissions close RTÉ will decide which songs will go on to compete at Eurosong 2023, which will take place on “The Late Late Show” in early 2023. The winner will go on to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest which at the time of writing will take place in either Glasgow or Liverpool. Ireland’s Eurovision JourneyIn 1965, Ireland made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with Butch Moore and the song “Walking the Streets in the Rain”, which managed to place 6th. Since their debut, Ireland has participated 55 times (making the Grand Final 45 times), and has won the competition seven times, which is currently the record for most wins. Ireland’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Brooke Scullion, with her song “That’s Rich”. The performers selected will be invited to audition at RTE studios in Dublin, where the final few will be selected for the national vote.
