I got this product as a free sample from the Body a shop and was excited to try it as my skin has been prettt dry this pregnancy. At first I wa a bit turned off by the texture; it felt like I was spreading super thick honey on my face - but the smell was divine! I left it on for about 20 minutes as I got busy, which doesn't seem to have caused any problems. It was a bit more of an effort to remove than I was expecting, but my skin feels so smooth!!! May 01, 2017 Quebec, Canada I had high expectations for this mask. My skin is very dry and I was excited to find a nourishing mask. The product says it's about 28 uses in a container, but I apply it with a foundation brush and got far more uses out of it that way. This product is very nourishing! My skin feels extra hydrated a couple days after use. The only complaint about is the smell. I used this mask today and oh my.. I was very impressed. I had a bit of reaction from my Glycolic peel 3 days ago and made my skin really dry. I was afraid to try a mask on my face because I don't want to get any more reaction from any product. I have been using coconut oil for the past 3 days to calm the redness on my face and nourish my skin as well. After using this mask, my skin felt great and smooth. It truly hydrate my skin again. I left it on my face for 30 minutes instead of 15 because my face was really dry and almost scaly. The smell is great. I will update for sure if anything changes. September 17, 2016 Ontario, Canada I got a sample of this from The Body Shop and absolutely love it. It looked like raw honey and felt like honey when applying with a touch of gel feel. The smell was a bit too much for me but I find honey smells weird. Rinsing off took a bit more effort than usual but the way it left my skin was amazing! It was so soft and smooth, I kept touching my face afterwards. Definitely will buy! Probably not. The Body Shop Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask worked better for me, and I would love to repurchase that. I was really intrigued and excited by the launch. The Body Shop has some fantastic products and what they really exceed at, is products that are ingredient/scent focused. Making it really easy to find your preference and become familiar with the beneficial properties of each ingredient. Apothecary PackagingThe packaging is consistent across all The Body Shop face masks. With the label colour and name being the only varying difference between them. I absolutely love the packaging it has a weighty glass jar with a thick plastic lid. It looks high end and gives off an apothecary feel. Although the packaging has no bearing on the product, I love the style and the quality. It feels more premium then some of their other products. The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask | £17At the time of the original launch I picked up the Honey Mask. This mask is a must for those with dry skin or for the cooler months, when everyone’s skin is more dehydrated from indoor heating and the cold. This has a divine honey scent and the consistency is very similar to that of real honey too. Once applied to my skin, it feels cool and comfortable. After removing, I find my skin feels more elastic and deeply hydrated. Your still need to apply either a moisturiser or facial oil afterwards, but my skin has so much more bounce when I use this. This mask is an absolute must for me when my skin feels dry and tight as it offers instant relief. It’s 100% vegetarian and contains community trade oils so you are paying for great quality. A little goes a long way so you only need to apply a light layer to reap the benefits. I really can’t fault this mask and its something I can envisage myself repurchasing. The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask | £17The Matcha Mask is newer to me, and was kindly sent to me by The Body Shop as part of their daretomask campaign, where I posted my face mask selfie to Instagram, you can check out that post here if you missed it. This mask is a much thicker constancy then then honey and feels tingly and cool once applied. When I first used this, I was stunned at how bright and clear my skin looked, it was as though I had been lit from within. This mask is more intense and great for a real skin clear out. Enriched with Japanese matcha which is known for its antioxidant properties and Mexican Aloe Vera, you can really feel the pollution leaving your skin when removed.I find that this mask doesn’t really give you that tight feeling as it dry’s, like a traditional clay mask does. Its stays wet, but over the 10 minute period and I notice that it almost balls up on the skin as though its pulling the toxins out. Unlike the honey mask this one is 100% vegan and again just superb quality that makes your skin feel amazing. I really recommend giving The Body Shop face masks a try, I myself am eager to test out the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask next as although I have dry skin I love how fresh and clear clay masks make it feel. If your skin is in need of a pick-me-up or you’re struggling with a certain skincare concern I think The Body Shop has brought out a fantastic range of masks at a reasonable price point. Honey is a natural humectant; it attracts moisture from the air and leaves your skin soft and moisturized. If you never tried a honey mask, you really should do it at least once!
