The whole season in its entirely, however, is nonstop laughs. We loved Top Gear USA like no other and love being able to put it on a laugh our asses off!!! Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2016 I've watched this before on Netflix a few years ago, and I forgot how good the early days of Jezza/Capt. Slow/Hamster truly were. It was an informative car show sticking to a strict format. While I love what TG/The Grand Tour has become, it's refreshing to see the three argue over cars, without taking any road trips as a trio with impossible goals. The road trips made the show more successful worldwide, and deservedly so. I completely forgot how they abused the Toyota Hilux truck, and yet it would not die. That's in series 3, and it's worth watching a second time. Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2015 Not as good as Season 2 or 4 but a step forward in Top Gear USA thinking. No more studio time. Most of the "challenges" are directly from the BBC flagship Top Gear. There are some unique American twists which play well with these presenters. One oddity about this season is the bleeping/editing of curse words. Season 1 is fully edited. Season 2 is fully unedited. This season it's hit or miss. Sometimes in the same breath. Which can be quite funny. Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2013 I love Top Gear Usa unfortunately you can't buy series 3 on iTunes in the UK so I had to buy the DVD from USA. Not that this has been a problem it arrived within 2 weeks of release. Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2013 I think this is one of the best seasons yet. With every season the show really comes into it's own, and the change in this season shows it. I have season 1 & 2 as well. I love to see what Adam Ferrara, Rutledge Wood and Tanner Foust are going to be up to with each episode. I am happy they did away with the "Big Star in a Small Car" segment as well as being in the hanger and focus on cars and the great challenges. I don't know how many friends I have recommended this show to, or just made watch. When season four is available I will be purchasing that as well. Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2015 There seems to be a divide between those fans of the original BBC "Top Gear" and those of us who also love America's version. There is plenty of room in the world for all
of us. Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2016 The Clarkson/Hammond/May trio is still pretty new here, but it's fun to watch the series grow from these early episodes into the phenomenon that it would eventually be. Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2013 Love this show. So far its a great release, I am just a little disappointed that the audio is censored for season 3 while season 2 was uncensored. Its also a little strange that the original theme song is back for the dvd, while when the episodes aired the them was replaced with something else. Also a little strange how this season the show is labeled Top Gear USA on the dvd while the past 2 seasons were just Top Gear. Top reviews from other countries5.0 out of 5 stars Ambitious, not rubbish! Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 8, 2009 The Top Gear challenges are fun to watch over and over again, and this is a compilation of some of the best races and tests from the recent series. Three rubbish Alfas, the BL buckets, and a race across Japan - it's not the winning or succeeding (the challenges are always 'ambitious - but rubbish', after all), but the hysterics along the way. Some of my favourite moments include May refusing to tow Hammond's broken Spider any further after being rear-ended once too often; Clarkson jubilantly shouting 'Amy's back! Amy's back!' when he manages to reactivate his disabled satnav in Tokyo; and Hammond teasing Clarkson about his fawning interview with Will Young in the extended Top Gear awards bonus feature. Fantastic. (I only wish there were more challenges to watch on DVD - where's the Blackpool race, or the caravanning holiday?) 5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST-SEE FOR THE PETROLHEADS! Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 26, 2009 What joy! The boys are back with yet another compilation of hilarious escapades. 5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful fun.... Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 18, 2009 If you are a Top Gear fan you will love this. If you are not a Top Gear fan... you will love this. If you are a tree hugging hippy who hates cars (like me)... you will love this. An an Irishman, it shows like this that make me love the English. Clarkson is wonderfully witty. As he gets older and fatter, he looks more ridiculous in shiny sports cars, and this makes it even funnier. Every challenge here is a joy to watch. My personal favourites were 'Top Gear vs The Germans', 'Race across Japan' and 'Fox Hunting'. The fact that each challenge looks so throw away and improvised hides the fact that this is a hugely polished show, obviously put together by a cast and crew that have huge talent and take great love and pride in what they produce. This is the perfect gift for Christmas. Even better, buy all three volumes on Top Gear Challenges. They are all 5 star. 4.0 out of 5 stars Generally good Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 30, 2020 These discs include some of the challenge parts of certain episodes. The disc aren't very user friendly and not very well edited for when the rest of the programme come on. I would have preferred the DVD to show the entire episode. Good for the price. 4.0 out of 5 stars Good Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 24, 2021 |
